WHAT WE DO
Your permit, handled from drawings to approval.
An access control permit stalls on paperwork — incomplete drawings, missed code requirements, or a reviewer who can not follow the submittal. Nexlar owns the whole path so it moves.

04

05
Reviewer Response
We answer reviewer comments and resubmit until the permit is issued.

FREQUENTLY ASKED
Questions before every permit filing.
Do I need an access control permit?
In most cases, yes — a commercial access control or door entry system must meet building, fire, and electrical code, and the jurisdiction typically requires documentation and approval. We review your project and tell you exactly what is required.
What does an access control permit require?
Typically: system specifications and drawings, code compliance, a compliant system design, professional installation, and a maintenance plan. We prepare and file all of it for you.
What is a construction submittal?
A submittal is the package of drawings, schedules, and specifications submitted to the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) for review. We assemble and file it, then respond to reviewer comments until approval.
Do you work statewide, or just Houston?
We file and work approvals statewide. City-specific permit pages cover Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso, Corpus Christi, McAllen, and Lubbock — with a dedicated local number for each market.
Do you handle gate or vehicle-barrier permits?
Gate permit pages are currently paused. For gate or vehicle-barrier permit needs, contact us and we will route the request correctly. This hub and its city pages focus on door and building access-control permits.
Can you design the system and file the permit?
Yes. We design the system, prepare the drawings and submittals, file the application, and work it through approval — then install to the approved plan.
Do you help if my permit was already rejected?
Yes. We review what was submitted, identify what the reviewer is asking for, and correct and resubmit the package.
